Mr. Emery has
over 8 years of experience in project management, project engineering,
furnace design including thermal finite element analysis, mechanical
design including 3D modeling, on-site construction, commissioning and
start-up experience.
Before signing on with Byrne
Engineering, Mr. Emery worked on a variety of projects including:
Project engineer for a novel
DC smelting furnace design. Work involved development of the furnace
design from the pre-feasibility stage through to the beginning of detail
engineering.
Design of water cooled copper
elements for furnace cooling. Work involved application of existing
designs as well as improving and developing new cooling concepts.
Design and layout of furnace
electrical system components including low voltage bus systems and
electrode columns. Past experience has involved design of systems, as well
as construction and commissioning assistance.
Design of water-cooling
distribution systems for several smelting furnaces. Particular focus was
paid to water quality to ensure long term system performance as well as
methods for on-line leak detection to ensure the safest possible
system.
Hatch furnace group
representative on-site for the commissioning and start up of a new
converter crucible design. Responsible for ensuring equipment was
installed as intended and started-up within acceptable limits.
